About

The FLATBUSH FARM SHARE CSA is a community supported agriculture project (CSA) that operates in the 11226 zip code area and is open to all Brooklyn residents.

A CSA is a community of people who buy produce directly from a local farmer. CSA members run the administrative side of the project together as volunteers and receive fresh produce at a great price, while supporting their local food system.

Our CSA maximizes the affordability of purchasing local, sustainably-grown vegetables and fruit through our project by offering a sliding scale price structure and the options to pay in weekly installments and/or with food stamps. Our mission is to make fresh, sustainably-grown, local produce accessible to any Brooklyn resident, regardless of economic circumstances. Through our sliding-scale system and fundraising efforts, we have managed to offer about a third of our members discounted shares each season.

We have two seasons of operation: summer (June-October) and winter (November-January). Weekly distribution is Wednesday evenings during the summer and Saturday mornings during the winter.

Our vegetable farm partner is the Farm at Miller’s Crossing, an organic, family-owned farm outside of Hudson, NY.
