Tonight’s humid and hot temperatures seemed a little out of place with the beautiful fall vegetables we received in our share (eggplant, acorn squash, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, spinach and lettuce). Fruit shareholders received lots of apples and a watermelon. We were treated to a wonderful and informative demonstration of natural household cleaning solutions by farm share member Evelyn Funes. Thank you, Evelyn!
Thank you also to the volunteers who worked especially hard due to some no-shows. Please remember to show up when you are scheduled, and to be on time. The first shift starts at 4:30, and it really does take that much time to get everything set up by 5pm. When people are late or don’t show up, it makes it that much harder on everyone else. Thank you to the handful of people (not even scheduled to volunteer!) who helped during clean-up–it’s wonderful when getting the work done feels like a group effort.
Enjoy your vegetables!
