September 23 Distribution

This was our first week inside for distribution and I’d say it was a success!  Thanks to all the volunteers who went with the flow and were chill with us figuring our new routine!

This week we had:
• 1 bunch of arugula
• 1 eggplant
• 2 heads of garlic
• 1 head of lettuce
• 1 lb. of potatoes
• 1 bunch of Italian Parsley
• .5 lb. tatsoi
• 1 bunch Japanese Turnips
• 1 lb. cauliflower

During distribution, I find it interesting to watch what goes in the swap box.  I saw a lot of lettuce, cauliflower, parsley and eggplant go in the swap box.  But by the end of the night it completely evened out… just as many people who put the lettuce in the box took out the parsley, etc.  There was no veggie that was constantly abandoned.  Of course, nobody put potatoes or garlic in the box!  I also heard many members exclaim they thought this was the best group of veggies we’ve seen so far!

If anybody has a great way to cook tatsoi, please send in your recipes.  Many members asked how to cook it and were weren’t able to give many responses!

My best, marie
