July 29th Distribution

Hello everyone…
With thunderstorms in the forecast for the entire evening, we set up our vegetables (and fruit!) on the porch of the Grey House. It was a little crowded, but at least everything and everyone stayed mostly dry. Our farmers sent melons, Savoy cabbage, summer squash, cucumbers, green peppers, lettuce, and strawberries! A lot of people were happy to have some fruit as part of the share. A great group of volunteers managed our shortage of scales and the crowded conditions beautifully–my thanks to all. It was great to have Angela Reyes-Paul with us to share her composting knowledge, literature, and enthusiasm with our members.
The newly expanded core group braved the torrential downpours and stayed to meet for the first time with the original members and new additions. It was great to get to hear different ideas and thoughts about our CSA community and its future potential, and to have so many people excited about making it a great community venture.
Enjoy your veggies!
