We finally had a distribution day that felt more like summer, and such a bounty of vegetables to go with it! With no rain in the forecast, it was nice to be able to have a little more space to spread out in the yard of the Grey House. This week’s share offered a wonderful selection that included summer squash, zucchini, cucumbers, Japanese turnips, cauliflower, beets, snap peas, green beans, salad mix and baby bok choy. With so many things to weigh on the scales, the line moved a little slowly during the busiest hours, but people showed great patience. Our terrific group of volunteers helped the distribution move as smoothly as possible…thanks to everyone who was there to help!
I can’t wait to read about the wonderful recipes everyone finds to cook all these lovely vegetables! Keep submitting your favorite creations to share with your fellow farm share members… it’s been fun to be able to be inspired by the recipes you’ve made.
Enjoy your holiday weekend and see you next week!
